The Economic & Commercial Section of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Kuching is located in Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak, Malaysia. The consular area of the Section includes Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan, as a whole known as East Malaysia. Covering an area of 124,499 square kilometers and 38% of the Federal, Sarawak is the largest state, almost equal to the area of West Malaysia. Sabah, with an area of 73,711 square kilometers, is the second largest state. Labuan, the Federal territory, covering an area of 95 square kilometers, is an island of free trade port and financial centre.
With political and social stability, ethnic groups of Malaysia live together in peace and harmony. East Malaysia is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, a developed infrastructure, full of business opportunities. Pleasant climate, tropical rainforest and attractive scenery make East Malaysia a preferable destination for tourists.
